Floats Needed For 4th of July Parade
Excellent promotion and PR for Businesses
and Organizations

Last year’s event drew around 15,000 people to the parade and festivities. Floats are still needed from businesses, community groups and residents. We hope that participants get creative, show their patriotic spirit and have some fun with it. Participation in the parade is an excellent means of promoting one’s business or organization to the community while having a great time. The parade is a great way for non-profit groups such as churches, youth groups and school clubs to get involved and gain great exposure within the community, with the added benefit of effective public relations.

CERT Community Emergency Response TeamIn the event of a major disaster, professional services may be overwhelmed and unavailable for long periods of time. The
widespread needs of the town will depend on voluntary assistance. With this in mind, the fire departments in Marin
County have adopted a citizen training program called Community Emergency Response Training (CERT).
CERT is designed to provide hands-on training to become self-sufficient for at least 72 hours following a disaster such as
an earthquake, flood, or a wild land fire. We then encourage CERT trained volunteers to join their neighborhood teams to
assist their community.

Class 1: Introduction/Emergency
Preparedness/Disaster First Aid

Class 2: Search and Rescue
Fire Prevention/Suppression

CERT classes are offered every month except July and December throughout Marin County. For a training session near you please contact the Corte Madera Fire Department.

The cost of training is $30 per person. The fee is to be paid at the time of registration. For further information and registration, call the Corte Madera Fire Department at
